Old Hall Cottage, Stackhouse

Loved our stay all week. The kids truly enjoyed themselves especially the space for them to play and run around.

Lots of room for the whole family. Lovely gardens, space to play for the kids. Bedrooms were clean and beds were comfy. Kitchen very well equipped. Owners were Lovely and helped with knowledge if the area for days out. Highly recommend. Thanks!

Gorgeous property for me and my group of friends. Had everything you needed. The host provided a disposable bbq which was excellent in the sunshine. Loved the hot tub. Great sized fridge and freezer. Gorgeous walks and wild swimming in the surrounding area. Thanks again!

Accommodation all good and as expected. The only negative is the knives for food preparation are all blunt and need sharpening!

We had a lovely peaceful and relaxing stay at Old Hall Cottage. The beds were comfy and the house was well equipped with everything we could need for our stay.

Our family had a lovely stay at Old Hall Cottage. We couldnt get the fire going on the first night so we contacted Janet the owner. She sorted it quickly and had a nice chat, and also offered to show us the lambing sheds on their farm up the road. We all enjoyed this bonus excursion and learnt a lot from Janet. The garden is big with a flat lawn, so on the dry days we could play games outside. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The hot tub is great and only a couple of steps from the door.

A lovely, warm and cosy cottage. Very well equipped kitchen with plenty of cooking utensils, crockery, glasses etc. Exceeded our expectations. A fire had been lit in the log burner for our arrival. White robes provided for use with hot tub. A stunning location about a 30 minute walk from the town centre. Absolutely loved Old Hall Cottage.

We had a lovely time at this beautiful cottage, ideally located for nice walks or a relaxing countryside break. It was a great set up for our large family group the large dining table was perfect for meals and board games. It was also baby friendly with fire guards, a high chair, a travel cot and a bed guard. The kitchen was well equipped although the toaster is on its last legs and could do with replacing. It would also be worth having an oven glove by the wood burner as the handle gets hot ours at home doesn't get hot to the handle, so we were caught out. Would happily recommend this overall!

We had a great time at the Old Hall Cottage and loved the setting and proximity to the beautiful walks of the Dale's. The hot tub was fantastic, the fire was extremely cosy and we really appreciated the hosts hospitality and effort.

I cannot recommend this property enough. We were a group of 5 girls celebrating a Pension Party in late September. We booked well in advance but did a wreckie in May to find the cottage location. The owner, Janet was in the garden cleaning the hot tub & was so friendly & helpful with information. The cottage has everything you could wish for & we cooked & used the kitchen facilities. It was so well equipped. The hot tub is a fantastic bonus & we enjoyed using it. Made use of the logs for an open fire in the evenings. The scenery surrounding the cottage is stunning we were very lucky with sunshine weather bonus having ample car parking at the property. Easy walks into Settle or Giggleswick. On departure I spoke with Janet over the phone regarding a couple of queries I had & again she was so friendly & helpful. We have said we would love to return. A perfect way to spend time with family or friends. Thank you.

The house is in a great location, several walks are possible right from the house. The accommodation is comfortable and there is plenty of kitchen equipment available for self catering. The hot tub is an additional bonus. We really enjoyed our stay at Old Hall Cottage.

Janet is a great host, she helped us navigate to the cottage in a stormflood. The cottage itself is lovely, very spacious, comfortable, clean. Excellent hot tub. 2 showers which is ideal when there are 67 people, 2 toilets. Comfy beds. The underfloor heating in the kitchen is not overwhelming but just a nice heat that takes the edge off the chill. We did some great walks from the doorstep to Victoria Cave and some waterfalls. My family and I stayed here inbetween Christmas and New Year. A great stay I imagine we will be visiting again! My suggestions for improvement would be A few essentials in the kitchen e.g tea bags, tin foil, baking paper there was salt and pepper however Booths isn't far if you have a car. Enough firewood for duration of stay although it does seem standard in accomodation that you have to provide your own. I would rearrange the downstairs to have a dining room next to the kitchen no sofas, just big dining table and make the other downstairs room into a room with enought sofa space for all guests.

Fabulous spaciuos cottage with everything you need and more! We were a party of seven with ages ranging from 24 81. Plenty of room for us all with flexibility with sleeping arrangements with the sofabed in the dining room. Beds comfy, with plenty of pillows and towels. Hot tub was lovely and warm with bench around the outside and lights in it and more towels and robes available to use. Cottage in a great location with lots of walks on the doorstep and not too far from nearest shops. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for cooking for yourself including oil, salt, pepper, kitchen roll and lots of storage for your supplies. Sofas and cushions comfy and wifi and tvs worked well. We had three cars and it was a bit of a tight squeeze to park them all in the dedicated parking for the cottage but a neighbour at the back said we could park one vehicle at the back of the house so we did. The fires were lovely with plenty of coal and wood definately a highlight to come back to after out November daily jaunts. Heating warmed the other rooms well. Lots of hooks for coats and large shoe tack for walking boots, etc. Only small thing property needs is a mirror in each bedroom. We would all recommend Old Hall Cottage as a great place to stay!

Roomy inside & out which is what we were looking for. Kitchen floor was a bit sticky around the sink area. We couldnt locate a mop. Loads of cupboard space throughout the building. Car parking is good. Maybe think about electric car charging point? Hot tub lid was not secured when we arrived. We only found the attachment points for the security straps at ground level at the end of the stay. In the event I dont think the chance of our three year old lifting the lid was high. All in all very good venue for family with children

Fabulous Christmas holiday. Old Hall Cottage is a wonderful farmhouse style property nestling in the lovely Ribble Valley near the pretty market town of Settle. Everything was perfect for us except the weather and we have no hesitation in recommending this property!

Old Hall Cottage is a lovely place to stay. There was plenty of room for all 6 of us. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the walks from the door and Settle itself was in easy walking distance down the river. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening and Janet came every morning to check it was ok. All in all a lovely autumn break.

We had a fantastic week with all our family together. The lady who owns it was very helpful, she even apologized for the bad weather, although it wasn't bad every day!! I wasn't bothered about the hot tub, but once I went in I loved it!! Will recommend it whole heartedly & hope to go again next year

The cottage is in a lovely location, very quiet, with lots of walks from the door but only a short drive from Settle. It was very comfortable with plenty of room for a family of 8. The kitchen was large and well equipped, and it was nice to have the hot tub. Overall we had a great holiday and would certainly consider booking again.

Our family enjoyed a great holiday in this lovely cottage. The property is spacious, has a excellent kitchen, the beds are very comfortable and theres a hot tub. The location is very peaceful but only minutes away from Settle. Janet, our host, was very responsive. On a particularly hot day we mentioned that a parasol would be appreciated, one was delivered within the hour. Excellent customer care!

The day we arrived a very heavy wooden door to the room where four young children were to sleep was hanging off its top hinge. We reported it and nothing happened. We reported it to another family member who said that the previous renters had complained. Two pathetic attempts at repair later they left the door wedged so the children had to sleep with their door open if that door had fallen on a child they could have been killed. Appalling attitude. No sky T.V. No DVDs. No games. No welcome pack. At least there were plenty of loo rolls and kitchen roll, and they provided a bbq suitable for cooking for two not much use for a large family so we left it.

We had a great holiday. The cottage was great and in a good spot to explore the area. Hot tub was great and used every day. Kitchen was lovely and well equipped. Car parking was good and the garden was very nice. The only downside was only having one toilet upstairs and having to go downstairs in the night so as not to wake up the people in the bedroom next to the toilet. Overall though we had a great time and would recommend.

Lovely cottage in a great location, it had everything we needed and the hot tub was lovely after a long day walking in the beautiful countryside. We enjoyed walking from the cottage and took the train from Settle to start more distant walks.

Fantastic break in amazing surroundings! The cottage is lovely and spacious with fantastic views. It's an ideal location for those wanting to explore the Dales with some great local walks on the doorstep. It is also only a short drive to Settle. We were a group of 5 and there was plenty of space for everyone. Janet was a great host and checked in that everything was okay. We also arrived to find that the log burner had been lit for us which was muchappreciated on a rainy December evening! The hot tub was a massive hit with everyone and we used it throughout our stay. Overall we had a lovely relaxing break and I would definitely book again.

The hot tub was not warm enough til 6pm on the Saturday night and we arrived at 4 pm on Friday . Some guests only stayed Friday night so missed out on it . This is not fair after paying all that money for a cottage with hot tub !!

Fabulous location

The pictures of the cottage dont do it justice. The cottage is very quaint and comfortable with the most amazing views. Theres was lots of space for our 8 adult guests and the kitchen was brilliantly equipped. Settle was a lovely town with some nice places to eat. Perfect stay.

A lovely big cottage, we were 3 adults, 3 older teenagers and a tweenie. The arrangement of rooms was perfect to give everyone space whilst also allowing everyone to be together for meals and relaxing. The downstairs toilet alleviated any issues with sharing the upstairs bathroom and the separate shower room was great, both showers worked well when in use simultaneously. The kitchen was very well equipped. Janet was a great host, she checks the hot tub regularly but was not intrusive. We had a great time here during a heatwave, the garden had plenty of shade and hot tub is great. We also experienced 2 days of rain, a lot of which we stayed inside for. The cottage was well up for the demands this placed on it. Views are fantastic with lots of great walks locally. Will hopefully return as the family loved being together in the cottage.

Lovely spacious cottage. Owner, who visits each day is able to offer advice about the local area. Well equipped cottage. Only thing suggested needs improving is the sharpness of the kitchen knifes. Thoroughly enjoyable would highly recommend
