Langlands Reviews

Stephanie
The photo of this house do not do it justice. I booked for a party of us 7 ladies. I was concerned the lounge looked small, on arrival we found the house no problem and opened the door to find it was really quite big. It was super comfortable. Gorgeous sun room off the kitchen with table and chairs on the patio through French doors. Perfect sun spot. The decor throughout is beautiful. The beds were super comfy. The showers were both powerful and hot. Kitchen well equipped. Log burner in lounge which we didn't use as it was warm enough. A few doors away from the COOP which was great. A short stroll to the 2 pubs and a social club. We self cater so cant recommend any food. Beautiful village. But if you're looking for shops there isn't really any. Just an antique shop, Coop, cafe. A book in the property with lots of walks. Will definitely return.
Christine
Langlands is a lovely home. It had everything and more and far exceeded our expectations. The back garden is a good size but the weather did not allow us to sit out. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the conservatory is a bonus as we used that for our sitting room and played ours and the owners games in the lovely dining room. Also provided were towels and other bits and pieces for dogs. It is a few doors down from the CoOp and tea shop, and pubs are 5 minutes away. I would highly recommend this house
Georgina
A lovely well designed, spacious, clean house with everything you need set in a lovely village. We had a great time exploring the area and just enjoying being in the house. We would love to return for longer than a weekend. Thank you very much to the owners for our welcome package and sharing their amazing cottage!
Gillian
Lovely property in a beautiful location. The owners have thought of everything. The property is like a tardis. It appears tall and slim but when you get inside there is plenty of space for six of us and a dog. We would love to go back, but Im not sure that will be an option soon?? Thank you for a lovely week. X
Beautiful house. Very well equipped with thoughtful touches. We really enjoyed our stay in this huge property! Plenty of space for seven people. The garden is fabulous for outdoor dining and would be loved by any dog! I definitely recommend a stay in this property, a perfect location to explore a delightful area.

Beautiful house, very well decorated. Fabulous location close to amenities. Great facilities in the house upon arrival. Small issue with the house but owners just a phone call away, very friendly and issue sorted very quickly. Would definitely stay again.

A beautiful house in a really lovely village. Clean and well equipped. It was great to have a welcome hamper and milk. The enclosed back garden was brilliant for the dog. A shame we were there for just a weekend, would love to come back!
Langlands deceptively spacious. As wellequipped, with as much storage, space, as comfortable etc as a real home. Welcome goodies luxurious, milk appreciated for tea on arrival. Garden perfect for sunny evenings and handy for dog. Pleased to find recycling rare in a holiday property. Furnishings, bedding etc all excellent quality. Everything worked! An amazing stay for 5 of us, at a very fair price. Enough walking eg High, Low Force, TeesdalePennine Way, old railway route through villages nice pub meals, interesting town visits eg Barnard Castle Langlands a complete hit with everyone. Thank you superb owners!
Lovely house and garden. Had everything for a large family of various ages.

Well presented and equipped holiday cottage in a beautiful part of the country. The house had a very secure garden which was perfect for our dog and close to lots of local attractions and walks. We had a great time exploring the local area and the delightful town of Middleton in Teesdale. The house felt like a home away from home and we had a really comfortable and enjoyable holiday and didnt want to leave.

Langlands is a wonderful property. It is full of character but with all the modern amenities. It is very spacious, which was ideal for our large family group. Our dog loved the spacious enclosed rear garden. The house is located in a lovely village which had a good mix of amenities. We all enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to others.
Beautifully presented house with some lovely period features. Very well equipped kitchen and tastefully furnished throughout. Excellent comfy beds with quality mattresses. Lovely large fully enclosed rear garden which our dog loved. All in all Langlands is an exceptional property and a testament to its lovely owners. Go...you'll love it.

Wonderful home with ample space for large family catch ups. One of the best equipped kitchens Ive seen. Spacious bedrooms and very well presented. Safe enclosed garden . Village has plenty cafes, chippy and decent pub. Lots walking opportunities from house with splendid views. Dark night skies for star gazing.

We've just come back from a lovely long weekend in Langlands. The house was everything I was hoping for and more very comfortable, large rooms and so handy for the shops. A very comfortable cottage, a real home from home. All your holiday needs are provided, making your stay extra special.
We have just returned from a wonderful 5 day stay at Langlands. This cottage is absolutely fantastic, the pictures do not do it justice. We were so impressed with everything it had to offer, we have stayed in quite a few holiday cottages over the years and this one has been, by far the best we have stayed in. So many good points and little extras that don't sound like much, but make a huge difference such as, plenty of plug sockets, blankets for getting cosy at night, dog towels and equipment for the dog, plush decent sized towels, choice of summer winter duvets on the beds, enclosed secure garden, fantastically equipped kitchen with everything you could need including tupperware to borrow for picnics and a spice draw, a huge choice of books to borrow, games and jigsaws, Netflix and amazon prime subscription....I could go on! We were so impressed with how clean this property was, and we really could not fault it. As for the location, Middleton in Teesdale was absolutely gorgeous, perfect for walking holidays, some lovely walks on the door step , and the surrounding areas have plenty to offer , High force and the Gibson caves are a must see. Everywhere is very dog friendly and the locals are extremely friendly. The fish and chip shop was excellent, and you have a big coop just a few doors away. We really couldn't have asked for more. The first time we have been away somewhere that we all 2 children of 10 and 14 included wanted to come back to. Thank you for having us!
Graeme

A spacious, well maintained and clean house in a beautiful village and area. We loved the large, secure garden, sun room and handy bike storage. Plenty of on street parking and so quiet at night. Lots to do and see with beautiful countryside views at the back of the house. Comfy beds, sofas and very well equipped kitchen. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday! Thank you!

Second stay at this property, we love the house and the area, there are plenty of places to visit in the area and some lovely walks, there is everything you could need for your stay in the property with an added bonus of a large enclosed garden for your 4 legged friends, the local people are really friendly and are eager to advise you on walks and places to visit in the area a couple of pubs that are dog friendly and do food and several shops in the village along with a coop, all in all a great place for a relaxing break, as i mentioned, our second visit but certainly not our last
Absolutely brilliant cottage. It had everything we needed and more, but it still felt elegant and luxurious. Thanks so much, we'll be back.
We had a fabulous stay in a fabulous property. Langlands had everything we wanted and more, it was a home from home for us 6 ladies. In fact we were envious of the property owners as it is so beautiful. It was also great to have the village so close and also be able to take some great walks from the house. Highly recommend Langlands

In a great position for exploring the countryside and some fantastic walks in and around the local area. Would definitely recommend this delightful property
A lovely property welldecorated, immaculately clean, and with an exceptionally wellequipped kitchen and a wide variety of books for rainy days and quiet moments. The location, near the centre of MiddletoninTeesdale and a few doors away from a wellstocked Coop, made this an ideal base for exploring Upper Teesdale. Warmly recommended.
A beautiful property in a beautiful part of the country. The house is very wellappointed and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the sun lounge. Our dog loved racing up and down the long garden and there are scenic walks along the river bank, easily accessible from the house. Wonderful!
