The sails, visiting the different towns and villages, especially Hays garden centre at Ambleside. Then after a busy day out going back to the peace, quiet, and privacy of Brunton Lodge. This was our second time at this property. and it won' t be our last.

This is a wonderful house, beautifully presented by the owners and a joy to stay in. Its position by the river is an added bonus, and when the weather is good it is a great place to sit and watch the world go by, or enjoy the odd gin and tonic. A very wellequipped kitchen and a generous welcome package. The house is opposite Haverthwaite Railway, which stops at Newby Bridge, so from here you can get to Lakeside and the ferry to Ambleside or Windermere. A couple of things which Im sure the owners would be pleased to deal with. The shower base in the shower room is very slippery and quite dangerous. The main bedrooms have no mirrors, so there is nowhere to use a hair dryer.

Great house, stunning view from the back garden. Busy road at front, but you dont hear the traffic when windows are closed. Busy road stop right outside Would return
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful property. It was extremely clean and wellmaintained and was equipped with everything we needed. We will definitely be back.
This is the second time we have stayed at Newby bridge, very nice setting and isolated. We take our 2 sproker dogs and they love it with the open space of the garden and able to go into the water at the bottom of the garden. Its a fantastic location and not to far to go to get to Windermere. I would say property could do with and little refresh but thats just my opinion.
We had an excellent stay away. The house was very clean and comfortable. All kitchen utilities were all there which was very helpful. Lots of room for 8 adults. We really enjoyed having the water at the bottom of the garden and we would definitely book again. Thankyou for a lovely stay.
We stayed here for the 2nd time. Lovely house which is very well equipped. The garden is great with easy access into the river. There are only 2 hotels nearby so it is a car journey to shops and more touristy areas but perfect location for us as we enjoy paddle boarding and walks. The house is on a busy road but traffic noise isnt something we really noticed, but it can be tricky for getting out or crossing over to hotel restaurant over the road. All in all a fantastic house and we will be returning.
Andrew
Our first time visiting Newby Bridge House it was a lovely property with plenty of space for us all x7 the bonus of the garden leading to the river was excellent as we paddle board regularly and it was nice to get out on the water without having to travel miles to a lake to do it. The property was well equipped and beds were really comfortable and clean, being next to a main road did not matter as we didn't notice one bit the only negative was the distance from the central lakes where we usually stay takes over 20 minutes to drive and you think Newby Bridge as a lovely village there is only the two hotels across the road and across the bridge and that's is but you are well away from the tourist hotspots and the throng of people. The property is very clean apart from the cobwebs and large spiders hiding in corners and crevices but that would be my only 2nd negative. Even though it is a beautiful house I don't think we would stay again due to the amount of travel to get to places in the central lakes, spent most of my time driving where I like to be closer.
Lesley
Beautiful house, everything we needed. Excellent position. River frontage was amazing, easy to get down to river, we had good weather and made full use of it. Easy off road walk to Lakeside. Two mins over the bridge to the Swan for a meal. Lots of garden furniture, cushions, parasol etc not shown on website. Photos don't do it justice. We will be returning.
Absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful house in a beautiful setting!
Elizabeth
We had a wonderful break at Newby Bridge House. The house was beautiful and the location was great we loved the river at the end of the garden. The house was spotlessly clean and very well looked after.
Denise
Lovely cottage in a perfect location. Had everything we needed.......Very comfortable beds too. Would definitely recommend & stay there again.
We have just returned home after spending a week in this beautiful property. The property stands on the banks of the River Leven and the private back garden leads down to the waters edge easy access for fishing, boating etc. We were very lucky and had gorgeous weather for the full week so we sat on the patio down by the water on many occasions. The owners have provided plenty of seating and cushions for your use and a sun parasol. The house itself is clean and beautifully decorated with luxurious furnishings and the kitchen is very well stocked with crockery, utensils etc. Real home from home and its a credit to the owners. Plenty of on site parking on the private gated drive. Walking distance to two hotelspubs and only a one mile walk over to Lakeside along the relatively flat but accessible Windermere Way. Photos dont do it justice. We had a lovely time and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to others. We hope to return again. Plenty of private parking available and easy access.
A perfect place to stay for a larger group. 20 minute drive into Windermere and a shop 2 minutes down the road. Facilities very well maintained, lovely bathrooms and very comfy beds. Would stay again!
Pauline
Wonderful house in a stunning location, well equipped for our mixed ages family of 8. We had a fabulous few days. Could run out of superlatives to describe the house & our stay . Description & photos dont do it justice , its even better than it looks. We will definitely return . But it would be super helpful to have salt & pepper pots please
Leanne
Lovely holiday cottage in a great location, I was worried about how close it was to the road for noise at night but this was fine. Lovely back garden close to the river my daughter lived playing in here this would be perfect in summer, was a tad chilly when we visited. House was perfect lovely and clean, will definitely be returning.
Judith
A beautiful house, well maintained and in a good location. Only suggestion is to provide information about rubbish disposal. Recycling was obvious but we could not find a place to dispose other rubbish
Elisabeth
Thankyou to the housekeeper the property was very nice and clean. Very well equipped, only one thing missing is a tea cosy for the teapot! Good location and surprisingly quiet in the cottage even though its by the road. Very good garden space.
