The Pines Reviews

The Pines is perfect for a family or friends get together. Very private, wonderful views and a short walk to the canal path. The linen and towels provided were spotless, the beds were comfortable. Tea towels, washing up liquid and liquid soap all provided along with toilet rolls. The cinema was such a treat as was the hot tub. The only thing which is easily recitified is that I think it would benefit from a few larger pans as we catered at the house and adapted well but a larger pan would have helped. Also some coat hooks in the utility or under the stairs but overall a fantastic stay and would return.
Wonderful time with my family , everything was perfect with the location and the property was exceptional thank you
Christine
Beautiful house and grounds. Hot tub lovely , beautiful views whilst in it. Gardens not secure as you could walk around all outside of house. But not a problem for our dog as she doesnt roam around in her own. Excellent cinema room , very cosy. We all had a lovely Easter break , visiting Skipton , Grassington , Haworth and local walks.
An absolute gem looking through listings, we were a bit unsure of a house rather than country cottage feel I'm so glad we chose this beautiful place. All the creature comforts, plus incredible views, absolute tranquility, stunning sunsets you can enjoy from the hot tub, and ample parking for 4 cars. The garden can be lit up at night which makes it very nice to sit in until after dark. Even if you're a larger party, there will always be somewhere quiet in the house you can go for a bit of quiet. The cinema room is great for relaxing in the evening, as is the spacious lounge. For that early morning coffee you can enjoy it outside on the patio or from the heatedfloor conservatory. The kitchen is well equipped we cooked each night instead of going out. There's no fan above the hob but plenty of windows you can open to let steam out. I'm a keen runner, and found a few lovely routes up into, and around, Skipton you can walk run or cycle along the canal for miles, with plenty of pubcafe stops. The driveway slopes steeply, but there are steps suited to most able people, and we had 4 cars parked on it.
The house is beautiful and well presented. There are no instructions re heating so the kitchen was freezing and we had just warm water in the house, not hot, even though we made contact and someone came out the situation did not improve. Most concerningly the children have been diagnosed with hot tub folliculitis due to bacteria in a poorly maintained hot tub. This is really worrying and distressing.

The Pines is a lovely accommodation in a great setting and we very much enjoyed our stay thank you. We found the accommodation comfortable with clean bedding & towels. The cinema room and hot tub were well used during our week. Considering the amount we paid to be there for New Year, I do have a few minor issues to voice The garden was not as fully enclosed as we believed, considering you accommodate dogs. The oven shelves were greasy and dirty and so were the glasses lipstick marks, etc I can only assume from the previous tenants. The limited number of toilet rolls provided considering the number of people staying just under 1 roll per person for the week.
Lovely house in a quiet location. In theory, walkable to Skipton but it's location up a single track road with no lighting or footpath makes that a bit dicey in the dark. Hot tub is a great asset but wasn't working when we arrived. The owners however were very responsive to our text message and came to adjust a setting, However, it took a long time to get up to temperature so we didn't get the full benefit of it at all. Also slightly surprised there didn't appear to be any plastic glasses in the property so made it difficult to take drinks outside. We found we could only use one shower at a time the second was cold when the first was on so although there were two that was a bit disappointing and frustrating with 5 adults in the house. Great cinema room which we enjoyed and enough parking for 3 cars

This property is perfect for families across the generations. Our party ranged from 12,13,and 15 yrs old to 80 yrs. There is room to be together in the huge living room with a gorgeous log effect fire, the kitchen with its lovely underfloor heating or the hot tub with stunning views. The garden is great for dogs, treasure hunts or a bit of football and its a simple walk from the property down to the canal path leading directly into Skipton or The Bay Horse good food and service and Aldi in the opposite direction. We would love to visit again at any time of year.

The Pines was lovely we had a great time the property was perfect in every way ... The Pines was lovely we had a great time the property was perfect in every way for what we needed and the 20 minute or so walk into Skipton via the canal tow path was great highly recommended lovely location very peaceful
We loved our stay at The Pines. Its a great location very quietened private but with plenty of facilits nearby. Comfortable sofas and beds, and the movie room is brilliant in the evening. Only small issue we had was finding the house instructions but we had quick response to resolve.
Thank you for such a wonderful stay. The pictures dont do the property justice. The gardens are beautiful and large, the views fantastic. The walks directly outside the property around the fields and canal are amazing.
Christine
A beautiful place, very peaceful and relaxing and private. Garden was great, a variety of birds to sit and listen to and loved all the pines. We hope to visit again.
Lovely clean cottage, amazing garden,
Overall we found the property to be very good. We had read a previous review which complained that there was no tea towelwashing up liquid provided but we found that this wasn't the case and there was even coffeeteabiscuits provided. The house was very well equiped and the location was excellent very secluded and private with very large deckingpatio area and large garden and Skipton town centre was a nice walk along the canal tow path. The only slight negative was that there was a slight foistydrain type smell in the main bathroom. Apart from that the property ticked every box.
All in all it was gorgeous. The only slight criticism that I have is that in every other Sykes cottages that weve stayed in theres usually some washing up liquid, a tea towel and the odd bar of soapshower gel in the bathrooms. Fair enough if this isnt provided but we then had to go and buy some fairy liquid, tea towel and shower gel. The place was absolutely perfect but the above items would have been a nice touch.
Rebecca
Had a lovely stay at this property! I was absolutely amazed by the house and its features! Perfect location and very clean and comfortable property. Apologies for the inconvenience. Myself and my partner tried to clean up other peoples mess which is unacceptable for others to leave. However thank you for having us. We enjoyed every minute.
Just spent 2 night here. Absolutley amazing. Everything you needed was there. Rooms very spacious. Hot tub fab with amazing views. Also has a cinema room in.. would love to go back in the summer time also. Would Highley recommend this place.
What a lovely break. Accommodation was fantastic.
