Yew Cottage Reviews

Graham
It certainly has the wow factor. clean, comfortable, well appointed. Owner very helpful. Good access to lakes and other attractions. Thoroughly recommended. Our group was 5 adults and one baby plenty of space.
Great place. Clean, modern, warm. Lynsey is helpful and friendly. We all had a fabulous stay and will be back.
Hollie
A beautiful place to stay that was clean, well stocked and had lovely touches such as the welcome basket, hot tub towels and flip flops. We had a fab time and enjoyed the suggested circular walk from the house. The hot tub and log burning fire were both wonderful additions. Weve already agreed as a group that well be back!
Lauren

Rishika
Loved the stay at Yew cottage. The property was well maintained. Big rooms with comfortable beds. Very thoughtful to keep everything we need in the kitchen. Thanks for the lovely stay.
Absolutely fantastic property. Attention to detail was second to none. Definitely recommend
Rebecca
Absolutely gorgeous cottage which has been decorated to a very high standard. We met Lindsay when we arrived and she was very welcoming and showed us round. Every bedroom has a en suite shower room. The hot tub was lovely, very well maintained with clear water and they provided plastic glasses so you can have a drink in it. The view from the hot tub to the estuary isnt as good as I thought it would be as there was a wall in the way but if your tall you may still get a good view, none the less, the sound of only birds tweeting was so relaxing. Theres also a tarn which is only a short walk and you can walk a bit further and get an amazing view of the estuary. I would highly recommend this cottage, if I came back to the Lake District I would stay here again. Its easy to get around from it, close to the main roads and pubs but far enough away for it to feel like your out in the countryside and pure peace and quiet.
Malcolm
Fab cottage and hot tub, we will hopefully return
Eleanor
Lovely place however there was a couple of small changes I would make. The rug in the lounge was filthy and hadnt been cleaned in some time, the washing mashing needs a good clean, the sink in the kitchen needs cleaning out as there is very bad odour coming from it when the taps are running, the baby highchair also hadnt been cleaned and had food all over it and there is no full length mirror. The outside area is great, hot tub is good, bbq was a great addition and the furniture is perfect. The cottage is decorated to a high standard and bedrooms were very clean. I did get a text telling me the water cleaner had broken and wouldnt be fixed until the following day and for us to boil any drinking water, this was fine and we did appreciate the message. unfortunately what let it down was we didnt get told when the water was fixed and safe again, I did have to contact myself to ask and got told it had been fixed for some time. The management receptionists drive around on quad bike very fast and come around the corners very quickly where you cant see as there are high walls. Worth knowing as theres and accident waiting to happen, we had a couple of times where we went to come out of the gate and the quad bike came speeding round the corner nearly taking us out.
We were very impressed with every aspect. Spotlessly clean and a lovely welcome pack of essentials. Good communication from property managers. Really helpful information folder at the property. Struggle to think how they could do anything better here. Totally recommend it
Property was well prepared and clean and tidy. Welcome basket was a nice touch and the cottage was fitted out with all amenities. Location is very rural and scenic and local walks are on your doorstep. Despite the weather late October we made good use of the hot tub. The price reflects the quality of the accommodation.Would recommend the cottages to others. Only issue was having to miss the potholes in the access road. We will go back again.
Lovely property, in a beautiful location, a perfect place to visit the Lake District.
Michelle
It was a lovely place to stay, fishing nearby. The whole place was well equipped and outside was a lovely private area with plenty of parking. Would highly recommend this place to stay.
Matthew
We were very pleased with Yew Cottage, it was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We appreciated the warm welcome and helpful staff. The location is great being lovely and quiet with amazing views and convenient for days out.
Beautiful property in an incredible location. Finished to a high standard and well stocked. Owners were prompt to respond to any issues. We had beautiful weather but this meant the house got quite warm a fan would have been the perfect addition.
Johanna
Really wonderful property in such a lovely area! Lynsey was helpful during our stay and answering any questions promptly to ensure all was OK. It really gave us all the opportunity to unwind and relax so I would definitely recommend! Thank you!
The accommodation was beautiful, spotless and facilities were amazing. The staff looked after us amazingly! Just be aware it is adjoining with two other cottages, not the whole building is you are booking a large group. We were very conscious of making too much noise but we could not fault the place or people at all!
Nicola
Yew cottage is gorgeous the photos don't do it justice ! Attention to every little detail has been considered to make your stay seamless .The sunset was amazing to watch sat in the spacious hot tub relaxing having explored Bowness during the day .We will definitely be returning to stay again .little tip the Asda nearby delivers your groceries save you taking bags of goodies ! Book now you won't be disappointed
Elizabeth
Beautiful property, very well equipped. Only disappointment was that a lot of land around the property was private when we looked on Google earth before we travelled it looked like there were a lot of places for the children to run around but their wasn't. However we would definitely book again if travelling to the area.

Yew Cottage is a beautifully furnished, spacious property in gorgeous surroundings. The Bigland Hall estate is picturesque, with lovely walks on your doorstep. The cottage itself is well equipped, with everything you need!
Cottage was really nice. We had a warm welcome on arrival and the welcome basket was a really nice touch. We had everything we needed on arrival and it was nice having some items provided we were not expecting. We had a great week stay
Douglas
Yew Cottage could be amazing but unfortunately we had a couple of snags which could probably be avoided with some maintenance on arrival we found parts of the property dirty there was also a horrible smell in some of the rooms we were told that the normal checks hadnt been carried out after the cleaners had visited but it did mean some of our party had to spend some of the first evening cleaning. In the middle of the holiday we had a visitor who ate some of our food in one of the cupboards a mouse!!! The issue was quickly resolved by the propertys owners with the hole into the property in a cupboard being blocked up and whilst mice in the countryside is something that no one could ever guarantee to eliminate, i would have expected common routes into the properties to be closed up in advance rather than risking holiday goers finding their food eaten. The hot tub is exceptionally well maintained although other areas of the property clearly need some TLC for example in the upper bedroom on the right the sink doesnt drain property blocked u bend probably and the shower tray feels like its about to give way when you stand on it.
Alison
This cottage is fantastic. Everything has been done to the highest standard. Modern, spacious, exceptional quality, cleanliness and location anyone staying here would not be disappointed in the slightest. Cant wait to go back. I have recommended to all my friends and family.

This holiday had the wow factor, it was far beyond or expectations, so cosy, very comfortable & amazing hot tub . There was nothing to fault this magnificent holiday.
The cottage was absolutely beautiful, with an amazing view over the valley. The location was great for a getaway with friends. The bedrooms are huge and comfortable and the main living area is cosy with the log burning fire. We all had an amazing time and would definitely stay here again!
Yew Cottage was amazing from the moment we arrived! Lynsey was there to greet us and show us around the cottage and how to use the facilities etc. the welcome package bread, eggs, butter, milk, jam and even prosecco! was a lovely touch. The cottage was stunning, clean, and had all the equipment & facilities we needed, the bedrooms were fantastic all with en suite and plenty of space, we had no trouble fitting the travel cot and pram in one of the downstairs bedrooms. The hot tub is great, even providing flip flops to get to the hot tub! Its all private and the views were stunning. We were all extremely impressed with Yew Cottage and would definitely return and recommend to others. Great stay and place.
Beautiful house in a lovely quiet area. Hot tub was nice and clean!
