Eastburn Cottage Reviews

Caroline
Lovely quiet cottage in a nice quiet area. Great pub for food or drinks only 6 minutes walk away. Everything you need for a holiday in a cottage. Beautiful views from the cottage. Walks from the cottage with no travelling. Lots to see in the area. You can make your holiday as busy or restful as you like.
Alison
Eastburn Cottage is beautiful. It was spotless and had everything we needed for our four day stay. The Rayburn heated the cottage, as well as our sausage rolls, really efficiently and made it very cosy. It was lovely to come back to after a day out in the dales. The beds were super comfortable and the two ensuites meant our party each had their own bathroom. I rang the owner for key collection and she was super helpful, giving me all the information I needed for our stay regarding recycling etc. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the dales.
The cottage is well furnished and provided with plenty of crockery and cutlery. It is in a beautiful setting on a quiet road and for us importantly has an EV charger. Any future visit to the Yorkshire Dales we will aim to stay here.
We feel that low beams and particularly doorways should be mentioned in the listing as we had a couple of tall people banging their heads several times. More information should be left in the cottage regarding recycling and checking out details.
We enjoyed our stay at Eastburn Cottage. Lovely comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. We pretty much had everything we needed. The location is very good with beautiful views from the windows. The garden is small but kept very neat so a nice place to sit. The dvd player wasnt connected to the tv so couldnt watch any dvds, but thats probably something that the property owner will fix as it was brought to her attention.

Eastburn Cottage was like a second home everything just perfect for our break. There was nothing we could have needed that was not already there. Located in beautiful countryside with outstanding views Next door property their garden being one of them. Great relaxing cottage but within easy reach of many attractions.

Lovely cottage . Ameneties you could wish for and nice little touches eg.flowers ,milk in fridge coffee and tea to welcome you.nicest cttage ive ever stayed in.
Alison
Eastburn cottage was a lovely place to stay. The cottage was warm once the heating was on but there was a log burner to back up the warmth. The cottage was very clean, the kitchen well equipped, the lounge had plenty of comfortable seating and the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. We experienced a problem with the plumbing which we reported immediately, this was resolved by the owner and the plumber the same day, we couldnt complain! We would definitely recommend the cottage and look forward to our next stay. Thank you!
Lovely comfortable, clean cottage in a quiet village. The main reason for choosing this was for the downstairs bedroom & ensuite and this was ideal.
Weve been to the Leyburn area quite a few times as we like it so much. Theres lots of places to visit either locally or within a reasonable driving time. We always seem to strike lucky with accommodation and this was no exception. Eastburn Cottage is beautiful and in a beautiful setting too. Very clean and well equipped and really comfortable. A pub on the doorstep serving great food was a bonus.
Michelle
Beautiful house and well equipped. Down stairs bed room and ensuite great, could do with a hand rail near the toilet to help you get up, other than that an excellent holiday had by all. Comfy and cosy with lovely views. We will be back.
Smashing cottage in a lovely quiet little hamlet with fab views from the cute little garden. Often self catering accommodation has a woeful amount of catering utensils in the kitchen. Not here, plenty of everything needed to cook at home. Bedrooms very comfortable and very comfy and cosy lounge. Great pub a few mins walk away serving hearty quality food and a friendly welcome.
Great home base to explore the Yorkshire Dales! The cottage accommodated our family of 7, made up of 2 adults, 3 kids and 2 elderly grandparents with mobility issues PERFECTLY. The cottage was clean, and tidy and provided every necessity required for cooking breakfasts and dinners at home while also having close proximity to a lovely local pub Street Head. The location is quiet and allows for walks right out the front door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I can quite honestly say that we wanted for nothing. It was a perfect holiday location which allowed us to unwind and relax. Highly recommend Eastburn Cottage!
The only problem was the low toilet in the downstairs bathroom which is too low if you are disabled and no rails to pull up with only the heating radiator which is not ideal for that purpose.
Magdalen
We had a lovely break here for a week then cottage was really lovely with all facilities and great central heating as it was still cold and wet outside . Enjoyed local walks and the location of the house was great really quiet with very little traffic making our stay really tranquil
Lovely cottage, cosy and welcoming. Only issue was lack of an information folder to help get logged onto the WiFi, use the heating, the electric car charger and checking out instructions. Otherwise a perfect stay.
Eastburn cottage is a real gem. Situated as it is in a delightful Dales village. The local pub servers excellent meals and ales all at reasonable prices. The cottage itself has all the facilities you would expect and is a real home from home. There is plenty of lovely walks from the cottage or within a 15 min drive. We are already planning a returns trip Kevin Crawley.
Helena
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. It is very comfortable, warm, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The owner is friendly and helpful. We did some great walks and Aysgarth Falls were spectacular!
This is a lovely property and a great location, to explore the Dales. Also, lovely pub in walking distance is highly recommended. I would say the only slight downside, is the nearest town is Leyburn, which is a bit of a drive a way, but hey, you're the Yorkshire Dales!!!
Lovely stay here. It is a peaceful location but easy to get to lots of places from here. The Street Head in is less than quarter of a mile away and serves lovely food. Tesco deliver here which was great for stocking up when we arrived because if youre used to a large supermarket, then there arent any close by, however lovely smaller shops. Be aware that to get more than 4 people around the kitchen table you need to pull it out, which makes getting around the kitchen a bit tight. My only negative would be that we were a bit cold in the kitchen on occasions as we stayed the week the weather turned and I dont think the heating had been adjusted accordingly. I gave up trying to figure the Rayburn out and phoned the owner who advised it was due to come on but that someone would visit if not. I know its been mentioned in previous reviews, but a welcome pack with basic info on things like this, as well as info about the recycling bins, would be so helpful. It didnt spoil a lovely holiday but would have breakfast a bit warmer!
What a lovely cottage. It was so homely and spotlessly clean. The beds were really comfy and we enjoyed looking out to the lovely garden. When we come back to the dales we will definitely book Eastburn Cottage. The whole area is beautiful. If you don't know it I would recommend.
Kenneth
The cleanest holiday house we have rented over the years, well appointed and comfortable. Television channel choice was very restricted, but we didnt come on holiday to watch the TV. A genuine holiday home.
Light switches in ground floor wet room a bit hit and miss. Shower switch in same room the string on the pull switch broke probably due to the fact it is a wet room.
Robert
Lovely location and a very comfortable, well kept cottage which is very well equipped. We enjoyed our week stay very much. Thankyou.
Kathryn
Second time visiting Eastburn. Such a well equipped and comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. Very clean and it met all our needs perfectly. Thank you
Lovely stay at Eastburn Cottage. It was spotless, extremely comfortable and well maintained. We chose this cottage for the downstairs bathroom as one of us has mobility issues. While the shower area was fine the toilet is very tight for space. I would not say it was suitable for those who need an accessible bathroom. However this did not affect the overall stay and the contact lady was very helpful in providing a shower chair and ramp etc to make things easier. Thanks again.
Daphne
Lovely property in great location.
A wonderful and well equipped cottage in the quiet village of Newbiggin. High level of equipment with excellent kitchen and utility room. The beds were some of the most comfortable we have experienced. Spacious, very clean and tidy and a lovely place to relax. The Street Inn pub very good and a few minutes walk directly down. Leyburn with a decent Coop store and Hawes offer a range of opportunities and some splendid walks in the overall area. Walk a circular path to West Burton and enjoy the falls. A couple of points. Please note for customers, as previous reviews, the need for clear and short instructions for use of the Aga not the mass of makers information. We struggled with this, there was a hand written note on them about resetting if a problem. The 'caretaker' reset all for us but we still did not get the central heating working as nothing pumped round. Also the bathroom toilet seat needs to be secured.
The cottage was in excellent condition and very well equipped. It was ideal for our family for the week. The pub on the main road is fantastic, and make sure you visit the falls at West Burton as well as those at Aysgarth. One note, if you are over 6 feet tall or 5'11 with your shoes on, then watch your head as the ceilings are low.
Ann ie
Beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful location. Most comfortable beds we have experienced away from home. There was a minor problem with the heating which was corrected immediately when we reported it.
Daphne
Lovely cottage in a great location.
We had a great stay at this cottage. Everything was clean and comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals including a roast dinner. The cottage was warm and homely. The downstairs bedroom with walk in shower was particularly helpful for one of our party with limited mobility. Highly recommended.
William
It would help to have some brief notes on how to use MW,Fire,Aga this would avoid rummaging through all the manufacturers leaflets. Please advise the owners that the kettle is leaking from the bottom of the water gauge with this water going into the kettle switch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a lovely cottage which is very well equipped and we have already recommended it to friends.
Elaine
What a fabulous holiday cottage. Everything had been well thought out and provided. The log burner was a wonderful bonus especially as we were there during Storm Arwen and had power cuts so at least we were lovely and warm. The Street Head Inn was a short 6 min. walk away through the lane the food was wonderful and staff very friendly we ate there four times and would recommend. We would recommend this cottage a lovely warm comfortable stay.
Yvonne
Lovely cottage in a lovely little village. Cottage had all we needed. Just one improvement would be a shower curtain around the shower in the bathroom. Everything else was fine. Good location for walking and not far to visit interesting places. A good week. Thank you.
There was absolutely no instructions how to use any of the appliances. Everything was more luck than judgement never been anywhere without basic welcome info. Also you stated all fuel included in price including the log burner but it wasn't and had to drive around to find some logs and sticks. Any fuel used had to be replace note on board said so this needs amending in your info.
I could not find a thing to complain about. What a beautiful cottage
Elaine
Great position for exploring the Dales and villages. Lovely neighbours with animals horses, cows and cats. A real country experience. Lovely local walks. Pubs very popular and need to be booked for evening meals. Delightful views.
Lovely cottage with everything you need, owner lives opposite and very friendly, came to see that everything was ok
Been to this property several times and it just gets better. The owners seem to update something yearly so not having been for I think 5 years we saw a big improvement in an already lovely comfortable property.
