Lovely house with all amenities. Comfy and peaceful for a family holiday

Had a lovely stay, spacious property, ideal for family to spend time together, garden was beautiful, we were lucky with the weather so got to spend the afternoons outside, owners helpful and met lovely couple close by who advised local places to see and what walks to take dogs on local supermarket close by, so we stocked up and got time to chill together
Large house which housed our two families perfectly Big drive for our 2 large vehicles perfect large garden great for the dog but not totally secure as advertised as our dog could get right round the back of the property along to the next house! ! House was clean and had everything we needed bit dark inside in the evenings downstairs but we used every lamp available and made the best of it! Owners very helpful when there was a power cut and supplied battery lanterns Plenty of towels and beds nice and comfortable Unfortunately just a bit far out for our liking for the tourist spots but due to the size of our party we needed a large property and for that Greety Gate House ticked the box!
A beautiful cottage, perfect for the 7 of us but ideal for 4 adults and 4 kids. Well equipped, cosy but spacious, lovely garden and a very well received welcome pack. Highly recommend and would love to return
Victoria
A beautiful cottage. It was fully stocked for all needs including cooking and baking. Stunning gardens with a lovely secluded and private seating area. Perfect location for exploring the local area. Wonderful holiday spot.
Lovely property with beautiful dog walks within easy access. Beach within 10 miles at Millom & easy access to Lakes within 30 mins. Definitely be back

This was our second stay here and once again we have had a relaxing week in this lovely house. Everything we could possibly need was provided, including the dog treats which Dexter was very appreciative of. Thank you once again.
We stayed here for 3 nights and it was a lovely cottage and very picturesque views. The garden was nice and big and the kids loved it. The cottage was kept to a high standard and had everything in we needed. We would definitely look to book here again. The owners left us a welcome pack which was unexpected and a very nice surprise, we would highly recommend the cottage to anyone wanting to stay in this area. Thank you for the great stay.
Lovely spacious house set in a quiet, ideal location and in close proximity to Lake Windermere and the other Lakes. Good sized kitchen and three bedrooms with the unusual benefit of ensuite bathrooms. It has all the facilities required for a comfortable stay. Outside is a good sized garden which was perfect for the dogs to wander and investigate apologies if they left a few small craters in the lawn. Thank you for making our New Years celebrations special.
Heather
An amazing house with everything you could wish for provided. We had a lovely stay, despite the rain! We would definitely love to use Greety Gate House again.
Had a fantastic long weekend away here, Sunday lunch in the local pub was fantastic although we had to nominate a driver as the cottage is very rural. The description states it was within walking distance but this meant using a public right of way across some wet farmers fields great for walking the dog but be prepared. Horses were very friendly.
This is a beautiful place, so much space for 8 people. It was well maintained but we need to wash some of the things in the kitchen before we could use them. Geoff was lovely, very attentive, and the treats waiting for us on arrival were a nice surprise. The drive to the car park for Lake Windermere was about 40 minutes and it was 1 hour 15 minutes to Aira Force Waterfall. We really enjoyed our week's stay and would definitely recommend this as a good location for all the Lake District has to offer.
Greety Gate House is a beautiful house which is well maintained and has a great amount of space for a large family group. The house was very clean aside from a few spiders webs in the top room. The garden is beautiful, just a shame the weather didnt allow us to enjoy it as much as we would have wanted to! The only downside is that the house is very rural which means you have to drive a while to find anything! You cannot just walk out of the property which is a shame as the area is stunning! We had a lovely stay and hope to return in the future.
Greety Gate is a lovely place with great views of countryside all round. The owners and family are lovely people very friendly. The house itself is big and lovely and clean. We had a fantastic stay and the welcome pack was really appreciated. I can wholly recommend the fabulous location and house.

We have just had the most beautiful week in your stunning farmhouse with great weather. We were greeted with a lovely package when we arrived at the farmhouse, which consisted of milk, flowers, chocolates , a card and treats for our dogs The farmhouse felt like home, it was spacious, beautiful bedrooms and the most stunning garden the pictures really dont do it justice with views to the estuary. The cottage has everything amd more you need for your stay even games and books. Every morning we would sit out in the beautiful garden soaking up the sun. The neighbours were also very friendly. Broughton is within walking distance over a field to a great real ale pub, bakery and shop. Windermere was a short drive and so was coniston. We also visited Buttermere, Thirlmere, Ambleside, Grassmere amd Keswick. Everyday we ventured around the Lakes, theres so much to see and do if only we stayed for longer. We will definitely be booking with you again to this beautiful part of the Lake District. We have stayed in numerous cottages over the years and this has to be favourite so far. Highly recommended Thank you
This house was amazing as it has everything you need as well as being very clean & spacious. The owners had decorated the house for Christmas & the tree was really very special, Thank You.
The property and the setting were excellent if I was being picky I'd say the sofa's are past their best as you sink right into them and although you're just over 1 mile from a pub, there's no safe footpath to walk back and forth.
Andrea
Idyllic and full of charm cottage. Very clean and well kept very spacious lots of charm. Would definitely go back maybe try a different season possibly summer to enjoy the livery garden.
Justine
Lovely property with a home from home experience. Lovely big garden. Neighbours were wonderful and told us all the best places around the area and also the little walk 50 yards from the property. Only drawer back was there was no pathway on the roadside so had to walk through fields which was great for us but maybe not for someone less able. Beautiful village of Broughton only 5 minutes drive which has a lovely bakery and butchers and some nice pubs.
Warning of cross beams in upper bedroom would be useful although no one banged their head
Lovely spacious cottage Ideal for families getting together wonderful room on ... Lovely spacious cottage Ideal for families getting together wonderful room on 3rd floor Plenty of bathrooms Comfortable stay
Fantastic setting, cottage, garden etc with also blessing of great weather to visit sourrounding areas. If we have to be pikky the only thing missing was a barbecue offered with the house ... we knew already and brought our portable so not an issue.
Lorraine
The cottage was wonderful. The welcome pack we received was very much appreciated. One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Thankyou
Lovely cottage, perfect for us. cosy and well appointed .
Lindsay
A spacious clean cottage with lovely gardens for the dog. You are greeted with a welcome pack of goodies for both humans and canines. The conservatory is ideal for relaxing in and the fire makes the colder nights more cosy. Some of the low beams can be tricky when most of you are over 6 foot tall but still an enjoyable stay. We would definitely come here again.
We had a great week away in this property. It was clean, spacious & well stocked with cooking utensils towels etc. The owners were welcoming and friendly the book of local walks we borrowed were brilliant. Most of all, we enjoyed the large garden patio furniture. Lots of space for our group to sit out and chill. I would happily go back!
Short break was brilliant Cottage was clean and had everything you would need Owners left a complimentary pack and dog treats which was unexpected and a nice touch. Gardens beautiful and serene.

Lovely cottage. Well equipped. Very comfortable. Please let the owners know the toilet was leaking in the loft and a number of light bulbs had gone.
Great house, great location for walking in the Lake District. Welcome pack greatly appreciated and dogs were happy with their biscuits!

Lovely property with lots of space. Large garden which was very nice for the dogs. First time weve stayed in this part of the lakes and had an enjoyable time despite the weather.
Had a fab time at Greety gate house. Lovely house. Plenty of space for a family. Good base for exploring the area. If I have to say anything negative it is the pluming. A few things need attention but apart from that we had the best time
All members of the larger family were very pleased with their stay at the Cottage. The generous space of the rooms with enSuite bathrooms , the well equipped kitchen and houshold room as well as large living ares including an impressive conservatory exceeded our expectation. And the well maintained garden with inviting furniture rounded off a wonderful experience, especially on sunny days.
