Dale End Farm Reviews

Mary
Spacious house with great views and location. Lots of room for people to spread out in, with a good variety of seating. With one exception, the beds were very comfortable. Location was wonderful - great views of the Lake and walks straight from the door. We didnâ??t use the car at all in the week we stayed. Very easy walk down Ito Grasmere, and the swimmers in the group had a daily dip in the Lake, accessed about 5 minutes from the house.
Gary
Fantastic location for walking - only a mile or so from the Village Perfect for big groups
Peter
Great location but house needs thorough refresh.
Barbara
We have had many fabulous holidays in this spacious house. It is extremely well situated for a variety of walking, cycling and water sport activities. Kitchen is well equipped for large parties and we love dining at the long table!
Howard
We have coming here for the last 16 years and love the setting, the house and the views. The house is spacious and comfortable but the oven could do with better maintenance.
Val
Lovely location with beautiful views. Noise is spacious and worked well for our family of 9.
Cath
This is a fantastic property for a family gathering- location perfect . Very warm, lots of parking, near the lake for swimming, wonderful variety of long and short walks from the door- only a mile from Grasmere and so peaceful -excellent bed linen / quilts/ pillows appreciated by us all. Lots of cooking equipment and facilities thanks
Sue
A brilliant location. Property is spacious and some rooms have great views. Views from the garden are great. Access to walks from the door.
Stephen
The Farm is situated in a beautiful part of the world, its approximately one mile from Grasmere which has a range of shops, which served all our needs. It is an ideal location for Hillwalking and transport links to Ambleside and Keswick are good [including Public transport]. Would recommend.
Glenys
The living and dining areas of the farmhouse are spacious and the bedrooms are a reasonable size, although the mirror doors in one ensuite don't glide and the other ensuite lacks storage space. The showers have little power upstairs and the hot taps trickle. The downstairs shower (and those in the barn) are fine. The heating is good though and easy to use. The beds are comfy and the bed linen is good quality. There were insufficient drinking glasses but otherwise the kitchen is well-equipped, although the frying pans have seen better days and the oven trays need a jolly good scrub. Some of the furnishings do need replacing (one sofa has a hole beneath the cushions) and there is mould on the back of the toilet curtains. I have to wonder why a £500 security deposit was necessary for this cottage as the standard does not warrant it. We did enjoy our stay in the farm, the issues raised are minor and fixable. The views are amazing from the house.
Ingrid
Great location and house but tired and dated, so poor value for money. Better cleaning regime needed, cooker needs fixing and kitchen equipment needs replenishing/replacing.
David
We realy like this cottage, but it is starting to look a bit tired now and maybe things need replacing.
Karen
Beautiful location for a family gathering. The house was spacious and warm with comfortable beds.
Linda
Great location with lovely walks from the door. Comfortable beds and pristine white bed linen. Property was warm and there was plenty of hot water. However the property does need a bit of a deep clean as carpets very stained! Bring soap for the toilets and kitchen as none was provided!
Janet
Beautiful views, lovely big farm house, very comfy. Nice walk down to Grasmere, plenty of places to eat & they are all good
Alison
We had a wonderful week in this characterful property. Glorious location and comfortable for our group of 10.
Barbara
This is a delightful property, spacious and ideal for a large party taking part in outdoor activities. It is excellently situated for walking, cycling and water based activities. Highly recommend.
Diane
A lovely location. Great views from the windows and the garden. A large, quirky farmhouse with plenty of space for all 8 of us.
William
The garden is beautiful and much better liked after than before. Also the cleaners are much improved too.
Susan
Perfect for a large group staying in The Lakes. Comfortable, clean, roomy, great kitchen and dining area for communal dining, lovely towels and bed linen. As for the location, garden and views â?¦ amazing!
Jon
Dale End Farm provided a comfortable stay with plenty of room for 10 (5 adults and 5 children). The rooms were all a good size and fairly well equipped (bring your own handsoap!). Kitchen had all we needed for bulk cooking. We loved the huge lobby area for getting shoes and coats on. We didnâ??t spend much time in the garden but it was very well maintained and the house had fantastic views of the lake and surrounding hills. By the end of the week, the children were used to the walk into Grasmere which, with tiny legs, took a good 30-35 minutes.
Charles
Amazing location and perfect for a family holiday, incl 87 yr old mother. Lots of space and character. Some issues with hot water/showers but otherwise nice property.
Richard
Fantastic stay in a lovely part of Grasmere!
Stephen
