About Tent Lodge

Tent Lodge is a luxury country house sleeping 12 guests on the shores of Coniston Water in the Lake District. This historic Lakeland property once welcomed Beatrix Potter and Arthur Ransome. Private lake access with three jetties makes it perfect for groups who love water activities. The extensive lawned gardens stretch down to the water's edge.

The setting is spectacular. Large windows throughout the house frame uninterrupted views across Coniston Water to the fells beyond. You're just 1.6 miles from the village centre yet feel completely secluded.

The house has four king-size bedrooms and two twin rooms across three floors. There are five bathrooms including a Jack and Jill shower room and a main bathroom with walk-in shower and double-ended bath. The traditional kitchen features an oil-fired Aga, electric oven and large island with breakfast bar. The grand dining room seats everyone comfortably. Two sitting rooms both have open fires.

Brantwood (2 miles, 5 minutes) showcases John Ruskin's former home. Tarn Hows (4 miles, 10 minutes) offers stunning walks. Hawkshead village (4 miles, 12 minutes) has shops and cafes. Grizedale Forest (6 miles, 15 minutes) provides mountain biking trails and Go Ape activities.

Great place for a family gathering. The lake access made the place really special and was enjoyed by all generations.
