High Kiln Bank Cottage, Seathwaite

High Kiln Bank is a fantastic cottage in a nice peaceful part of the Lakes! Even with the hot sunny weather we were able to escape the crowds. There was ample space for 6 of us. The pictures dont do the large kitchen dining area justice! The huge living room space is great. The enclosed garden area just along the driveway has a BBQ and table for 8 people and is a lovely sunny spot. There are loads of local walks, many without having to drive anywhere and lots of beautiful places to swim in the river Duddon. We walked to one local pub with nearby swimming spots and stopped for a drink on the way back from Coniston at the other one which also does excellent food! Hosts were very friendly and helpful but absolutely not intrusive. I think we will be back!

Another fantastic stay at High Kiln Bank Cottage. We have refallen in love with the Duddon Valley & definitely fallen in love with this beautiful Cottage. Meals each day at The Newfield Inn were delicious too. A huge thank you to High Kiln Bank's owners & their family for another wonderful holiday & for making our 29th wedding anniversary even more special xx. We would highly recommend a stay at High Kiln Bank Cottage & hope to return soon.

Our best cottage ever! ! Steeped in history, so peaceful surroundings, with the Fells and newborn lambs. Owners next door, so nice and friendly. We miss it already. Furnishings all cottage charm, with chest of drawers, that we never get!!,even laundry baskets! Wine and biscuits too. Was just lovely.

We had a wonderful stay at High Kiln Bank. The cottage was warm and comfortable, located in a pretty spot in this quieter area of the Lake District. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and vases full of freshly picked daffodils. The property owners were both delightful and helpful. There are plenty of walks direct from the cottage and many of the major fells are within a short drive, as are a number of decent pubs and places to eat. We would certainly recommend a holiday in this lovely place.

Came to this beautiful cottage, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed, there where 6 of us staying here on a walking holiday, the rooms where very comfortable and plenty of storage, everything was explained in the booklet, how to use the washer ect, the TV didn't connect to any channels but tbf that wasn't a concern, the roads into and out of the property are very tricky if you aren't used to those type of roads, but at night it was very peaceful, we loved it and would recommend it to anyone

Both the cottage and the Duddon Valley were hidden gems. My favourite bit of the Lake District. Unspoilt and not overcrowded but with fabulous walks. The cottage was a lovely traditional farm house. Roomy, warm and welcoming. Really recommend High Kiln Bank

As a family of 4 and a Dog we have just had an amazing week at this beautiful, comfortable, large but very cosy Cottage. The Cottage had everything that we needed and was warm throughout making it a great place to stay during our long walks. The scenery is fantastic looking down the valley and over the river and up to the neighboring hills. This is a great place for walking directly from the door step, so many areas to venture out to and various difficulties. Access is via winding country lanes that just add to the adventure and if you are lucky enough to meet anyone, they are very friendly. The Blacksmith is a must for a meal and a visit to the Newfield Inn for Breakfast is just a stroll away. Not one to be missed, a Gem of a find and a tick in the box for a revisit. Thank you for your hospitality and your lovely cottage, a great week well needed.

An absolutely beautiful time. This cottage is so very lovely and cozy. There was a large basket of wood and kindling waiting for us the first night, as well as beautiful flowers and a bottle of wine. The views are something out of a stunning picture book. And if you really want to relax, you don't even need to drive anywhere as there are wonderful walks right from the front door. I almost couldn't take it in, this area is so breathtaking. It was lovely meet one of the owners who was very friendly and helpful. Can't recommend enough.

A very comfortable and large cottage set within a very beautiful location the view from the garden area is truly magnificent. The Duddon Valley is less busy than the more tourist areas of the Lake District but not so far to visit those areas should you wish. However there are plenty of local walks where you can walk and not see a soul for hours! The cottage is well equipped with everything you might need and space enough for the extended family or friends to share. We struggle sometimes to find cottages in the Lake District with two loos to help ease the morning rush let alone two full bathrooms and an extra separate loo! And bit of additional info both Tesco and Asda can find the property.

We had an absolutely fabulous holiday in this beautiful cottage and location. The only thing that wasnt ideal was that we tried to amend the booking over 48 hours before to say that we had our family joining us 6 instead of 2 adults, and 2 infants. But the owners were not notified of this. Thankfully they called on the morning of the day we were arriving, so I was able to confirm the change. They were super gracious and welcoming, despite this being the first they knew of it. Really lovely people! Sykes booking system needs looking at though. We hope to return to Kiln Bank, after such a perfect stay

An absolute hidden gem, loved the remoteness and being off grid. So quiet and peaceful. Accommodation exactly as described, so comfortable and homely. Will definitely be back very soon.

A wunderful pleasent stay in a well kept cottage with spectacular views over the Duddon Valley. One of the best stays in the lakes.

We had a great stay at High Kiln Bank cottage. Fantastic views in a wonderful part of the country. Did some great walks including the old man of Coniston and Dow crag. Cottage is run by lovely people who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Very comfortable and spacious. Great to hear the chickens in the morning.

An amazing cottage, beautifully kept and super comfortable. Fantastic views across the valley, quiet and peaceful. Some winding steep roads to get to the cottage which made for an exciting drive but so worth it! But really once there, you don't really need to travel at all as there are so many fabulous walks nearby.I would highly recommend this property and it's friendly host.

We loved our stay in thie gorgeous cottage. It's comfortable, clean and very picturesque. It's also in a stunning spot and the views are incredible. The owners couldn't have been more hospitable and kind. We'd highly recommend it to anyone.

This is a magical place a lovely old cottage with so many opportunities to engage with the environment, climb hills, paddle in rivers, stepping stones, see lakes, hill forts etc. Cottage was homely, roomy, well equipped and spacious. Perfect for 4 adults and two young children. And a large dog! It took a while to adjust to the lack of wifi and phone coverage and limited TV coverage be prepared! we would have preferred to be able to access the garden from the house, but it was still a wonderful space only a short walk to go to and sit or play. Pets and children welcome everywhere we had some lovely lunches in the local pubs.

Proximity to local walks and high peaks around wastwater. Peaceful and quiet area. Great pub at Seathwaite. Easier access than initially thought.

It is a really nice location with a very spacious and cosy cottage with everything needed to take a break and disconnect from the rest of the world. As a special mention, we've really enjoyed the view of the valley from the BBQ spot. Definitely recommended

Beautiful cottage on sheep farm in the most wonderful location. So quiet and away from the crowds, with wildlife all around. Cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. Very friendly and helpful owners. A joy to have no phone coverage or internet in the house so good to unwind and get away from it all. Thank you!

This cottage is gorgeous and comfortable and the setting, overlooking the Duddon Valley, is absolutely stunning. We loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer!

Lovely, clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage in a stunning location. Owner very friendly and helpful.

Lovely apartment in Dorset overlooking the beach. Clean and tidy on arrival and useful that they supplied fresh tea towels, sponge, jcloth, bin bag and washing up liquid as well as a few dishwasher tablets so you dont have to buy during 7 day stay. Comfortable stay as plenty of space, quick access to west bay facilities all within walking distance so you can leave the car in secure underground car park until end of holiday if you didnt want to explore the coast further afield. Get sun on balcony from about 2pm and sunset is lovely to watch whilst enjoying bottle of wine on comfy balcony furniture. Plenty to do including paddle boarding from the east beach, rib rides from harbour, river kayaking and rowing boats on River Brit behind the harbour get to see Broadchurch Detectives riverside chalet from boat as well as coastal walks to east over the Broadchurch cliffs to Chesil Beach or west over the cliffs to Eype and Golden Cap near Lyme Regis. Incidentally several external areas around the apartment block were used to represent the Broadchurch police station if you enjoyed the TV series. Nearest supermarket is Morrisons 2 miles away in Bridport but can pick up bits in Spar if dont want to use the car. Restaurants limited due to Covid with several closed or just doing takeaway but we knew that would be case and apartment had all equipment in kitchen to enable full meals to be prepared so we had best of both worlds as cooking was easy with those lovely sea views.

The cottage and location was fantastic had to go through moutains passess and had the most spectacula sceanery we have ever seen. the cottage was large and homely very comfortable and the owners were nice and friendly. the only down thing was you did not get phone reception but a short trip up the hill we could phone out so that was ok .felt at home straight away didnt want to come home thankyou .

We were very lucky with the weather it was perfect. We love this cottage and its location.
